Excel 2010 vs 2016 Page Margin Differences

Hello,

I have created some documents for my company using Excel 2010 (Windows 7), as installed on my laptop. Some of my colleagues have newer laptops running Windows 10 and Office 2016. The documents have been designed to fit nicely on a defined number of pages, adjusting margins precisely for best display on Excel 2010. The issue I have is that my colleagues running Excel 2016 have had the page layout come up differently, and what shows as 4 pages on 2010 might be 8 pages on 2016 due to one row/column going over the page border, and having a flow-on effect down the document.

The odd thing is this has not been consistent between different computers running 2016 and Win 10 - some adjustments were made to the documents and this worked on some of the 2016 versions, but others still had display issues. Presumably, this is a display setting on each computer? We already found the scaling factor in Windows settings which seemed to help (Display > Scale, set to 100% (from "125% (recommended)"). Does anyone have further suggestions on why different versions of Excel display identical documents differently?

Thanks!

    Thanks Naval.

Those tips seem to be more about compatibility between .xls and .xlsx versions, though.

Thanks for the reply. No, resolution is identical between mine and one of the problem computers. Both using laptop + extended display to monitor, and both laptops and monitors have the same resolutions, respectively.

Worth a look, though, so thanks!

    Re:  printing on other computers

The Screen Resolution (SR) affects the size of the display.

The smaller the SR the larger the screen display.

My older model computer monitor has a SR of 2560 x 1440 (default),

but can be set as small as 800 x 600.
