Microsoft Planner adding attachments through Sharepoint not working

I currently have an issue when I try and add an attachment on Planner via Sharepoint. 

I have 3 options when adding documents on Planner ; File, Link or Sharepoint. 

I work in a team and our Sharepoint has many folders, when I try and add a document from Sharepoint it only gives me the option to ad documents from one folder which isn't relevant to me. There is no option to view all the available folders, why is this?

When we have tried to add via Link when team members click the link it doesn't open up the document. Is this a current issue?

Hi Jay,

Thanks for posting here.

After seeing your post I did a test and the result is the same as you described, the folder it displays is the Document Library of this team site(the task group), which you could view by clicking ...(ellipsis) on the ribbon->Files. I think this behavior is designed to make it easier to manage files for a task. (members in this team would access the file directly without any permission limits)

I suggest you move the file into that specific folder if the condition is allowed, or you could choose to add links then generate links via SharePoint:

If other members still cannot open up the document, could you please share a screenshot of the error message they met? In my opinion, they may have no permission to access the file but it would be good if you could post a screenshot here, and we would help you narrow down the issue cause.
