Firstly, I suggest you restarting your Mac to check if it can solve the issue.
As the user who meet a similar permission issue solved it by restarting computer, you can refer to the following thread:

If the issue still exists, you can refer to Jim’s suggestion of the following thread:
Message: Word
cannot complete the save due to a file permission error.
If you still meet the permission issue, could you please provide the following information for further analysis?
- The version of Office. (Click Word>select About Word)
- The screenshot of error message.
- Check if all files meet the issue or only special file.
- Where did the file store, computer or OneDrive?
- When did the issue occur? Which operation have you taken before the issue occurred, such as updating Office?
