Remove Field Codes warning

Question

When I remove field codes in Word footnotes, I get a warning from Word about the dangers of removing field codes. Can I stop this warning as i do this step hundreds of times?

My guess is that the citation manager, rather than Word, is generating the error messages. However, there is no way to tell for certain without looking at an example document.

Someone else may know this off the top of their head. I do not. I suspect it will take a macro tailored to the output of your citation manager program. If you post a sample, please include information on which fields you would want to have happen.

Changing a typed url into a hyperlink, adds a field. Doing this change can be done using AutoFormat.

i have a citation manager that generates footnotes in word using field codes. I can't submit the document with field codes and need to remove them as I enter each footnote, because the citation manager does not always conform to style and must be edited (for example the url mist be turned into a hyperlink). I don't worry about indexing, I just want to kill the warning.

Any idea of which field codes it is that you are removing? These can be important for keeping your document accurate. There is a reason for the warning other than to annoy you.

What are you doing that removes the field codes? Deleting text? Unlinking fields? Deleting the footnote number?
