If often write my apa papers with online Perrla (perrla.com) and then export my paper to word to make minor changes before I upload it to my college to be graded. Today for the first time, my paper and all of my old saved papers in word, look different. The page numbers are not showing the page breaks are different, etc. How can this be fixed? I can't figure out what is going on.

Can you provide some details of the differences.

Do you have the white space between pages visible (File>Options>Display>Page display options)?

Are you looking at the document in Print Layout View?

Yes, MS is constantly making small tweaks to Word, so that could be the problem. BUT, normally the tweaks should not have this sort of effect.

Actually, the best thing to do is ask this question at Perrla support. If it is a general problem, they will hear about it faster than we will here. Actually, this is the first time I've heard of Perrla.

It sounds like a problem with your normal.dotm, where the styles you use have been changed.  Find your normal.dotm and see if there is a backup copy that you can restore/rename to use.  IF there isn't, try closing all Word sessions and renaming normal.dotm to see if the regenerated normal.dotm will fix the problem.

How to Open the Normal Template ****The links above show a few different ways of finding normal.DOTM .

    Off topic:

How long have you used Perrla?

    How do you like it?

Have you ever had any bad marks from professor for formatting issues?

    Hi CherieGalgiani,

My name is Joshua, I'm an Independent Advisor trying to help you out.

    Dear,

Please proceed to run the application in safe mode.

    Windows + R, then type winword /safe

If once observed it works, go to the add-ons to be able to detect which of them is generating the inconvenience, it is possible that you must manually validate each one of them. Observe here:

    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/view-m...

If even with the steps we can not find the solution to the problem, we proceed to repair it.

Hoping that I can get the solution to your request in this information that I have shared.

    Have a good day

    Regards.
