Excel 10 workbook saved on OneDrive, Office 365 Business. We have five people who co-author a workbook, when opened it prompts that it's in read-only with a button to click to disable. Once clicked the workbook appears to function correctly but the AutoSave shows that it's off and when you try to save it will only Save-As. If you open the workbook in browser mode it allows coauthoring and you can see everyone who is in the book. If you try to work in app mode it doesn't show who is in the book and AutoSave is off. Everyone has edit permissions, it's not in protected view, it's not marked final, it's not locked for editing, always open in read only is not selected and it's not password protected. Any suggestions?

Hi Michael,
Sorry for the inconvenience it has caused you.
First of all, I’d like to suggest update Office client to the latest version. As Office is updated, some known issues would be solved. For your reference: Install Office updates.
And please make sure the settings to OneDrive is correct.
Right-click on the cloud icon on the system task bar > Settings > Office, check on “Use Office applications to sync Office files that I open”, select “Let me choose to merge changes or keep both copies” as showing in the following image.
Besides, to narrow down the scenario, we’d like to collect some information:
Office version: After opening Excel, click File > Account, Office version contains in the Product Information pane.
OneDrive version: Right-click on the cloud icon on the system task bar > Settings > About.
Best regards,
Madoc
