I have a document for which I have written the html code for.  I want to maintain the formatting when I populate it in OneNote.  How do I import the code?

Many people believe OneNote should be a better Word.

But you should know that the OneNote development was never part of the Office development.

From the Office POV OneNote is a bastard.

You can import the HTML source, but no rendering: OneNote is not a browser.
