One option in a modern site is to use json view formatting. Create a view limited to one item, click the view drop down and "format this view". You'll have to be somewhat familiar with json syntax but there are examples you can copy if you google for them. You'd then have to figure out a way for this view to appear in place of the default dispform.aspx page when users select an item.
Create a SharePoint Page from a List Item
Let's say I have a normal SharePoint List of items. The list contains many fields. I can select an item and see the details of that item pop up on the right of the screen (desktop view). I would like to customise that view. I want it presented as a full page and I want to design the layout to present the information in an attractive and intuitive way - not in a simple list.
How do I do that?

2020-08-22T14:17:56+00:00 Hi Dave,
Thanks for choosing Microsoft.
According to your description, it seems that you want to create a SharePoint page from a list item, if this is your scenario, I think you may try to use Power Apps to customize your SharePoint list.
For your reference:
Customize a SharePoint list or library form by using Power Apps
Customize a form for a SharePoint list
If this is not what you mean, could you please tell us more details and provide some screenshots about your scenario?
Any updates are welcomed to post back.
Best regards,
Gloria

Power apps to re-render a list item? That seems like overkill. Far easier to format the view of the list.
