Is there a way to start the ID field at a number greater than one? The user wants the list to be a continuation on a manual list and would like the ID to start at 3000.

Hi JamillahAC,

Thank you for your message in this forum.

According to your description, it seems that you want to change SharePoint list ID start form 3000 instead of 1 in SharePoint Online.

May I know if my understanding is right? If so, we’re afraid there is no out of way to change start ID number directly in list ID from UI page. We’re sorry that it doesn’t meet your requirement. I do understand the inconvenience it has made and apologize for it.

To address your concern about the situation, we’d suggest you kindly vote this UserVoice: Starting number of a Numbered List. This is the best platform to let us hear from you and make our products and services better for you and others.

At the same time, here is a workaround you can try:

You can create a Calculated Column with formula =2999+ID, as shown below:

Then you can hide ID column.

If the scenario above is not consistent with yours, you can also post back and provide more details about your requirement.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Sukie

This workaround is fine, but how do you get rid of the commas in the ID number?
