DNS conditional forwarding same domain

Hi,

I have a DNS domain in my windows environment abc.com. We have a team that has their own DNS Servers and wants to have a dns name created called nap.prod.abc.om and all DNS queries for nap.prod.abc.com will be forwarded to their own DNS servers.

I tried conditional forwarding but seems not allowed. And I got this error.

What would be the best solution for this?

Thanks!

It sounds like Conflict. You might already have some forwarders or zone configured with this reference nap.prod.abc.com.

A DNS server cannot forward queries for the domain names in the zones it hosts. You already have "abc.com." in the DNS server hence the issue.

use DNS delegation to workaround this situation.
