SharePoint Calendar webpart problem

I inherited a work group that has a SharePoint and Team site. The work group has monthly meetings that the organizer set up using Outlook, inviting the work group's group email address.

The organizer is leaving the company, and has cancelled his meetings. I created a new set of monthly meetings in Outlook inviting the group's email address.

On the SharePoint site, we added a Calendar webpart. The Calendar shows the previous organizer's meetings (they do NOT show up as cancelled) and my meetings.

Questions: (1) How can I remove his meetings from appearing on the SharePoint site;  (2) Is it okay that I am using Outlook to schedule these meetings or should I be using Teams or something else?

Thank you!

The situation still occurs after I hit the sync button.

I still see meetings on SharePoint that have been cancelled by the meeting organizer in Outlook. I also had the organizer delete the meeting from his Outlook calendar. The items with the red X are the cancelled / deleted items. I deleted all my browsing history/cache and the problem persists. I thought about using the Event webpart, but my meetings start at 1:20 and Events does not let me edit the minutes.

    Hi Parker,

    Thank you for the reply.

The "Sync Calendar" button is in the SharePoint Calendar webpart like the following picture.

If your situation is not like this, please provide a full screenshot of your Calendar webpart in SharePoint team site Home page.

    Best regards,

    Jazlyn

Thank you for the quick reply. Can you help me locate the Sync Calendar button? Is that in Outlook or SharePoint, and specifically where? Thanks!

    Hi Parker,

Thank you for posting your query in our community.

Based on your description, you have two questions about Calendar webpart in a SharePoint site. Here are my answers:

    1. Q: How can I remove his meetings from appearing on the SharePoint site?

A: The Group calendar web part allows you to put a Microsoft 365 group calendar right on your page so that it is easily visible to your readers. So the event in the calendar webpart is connected to your group calendar in Outlook.

If you want to make an event appear or disappear in the calendar webpart in the SharePoint page, you need to create or cancel the event on the Outlook calendar first, then click "Sync calendar" button to sync the latest update of the Outlook calendar.

    2. **Q:**Is it okay that I am using Outlook to schedule these meetings or should I be using Teams or something else?

**A:**As I mentioned in the above question, the event in the calendar webpart is connected to your group calendar in Outlook. We recommend that you can directly use Outlook to schedule these meetings. Here is an article for your reference: Schedule a meeting on a group calendar in Outlook

If you still have any concerns about it, please feel free to post back.

    Best regards,

    Jazlyn
