Hi Robin,
Sorry for the inconvenience it may have caused.
I did a test on my side, but I cannot reproduce the same scenario.
After the Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Master Data Services Add-in For Microsoft Excel is installed successfully, open Excel and a new Master Data tab is displayed on the ribbon.
And it shows correctly in Options > Add-ins.
To troubleshoot the issue you met, there’re some suggestions you can take:
- Please make sure you installed the add-in from the official source.
- Have a check at Hardware and Software Requirements for Installing SQL Server 2014 to ensure the hardware and software meet the requirements.
- Update Office to the latest version. With Office updated, some issues would get resolved. So it’s a good idea to keep Office up to date.
- Perform Office Online Repair to fix the problem.
If the add-in still cannot be loaded correctly, we’d like to collect some information to further check it:
- Which version of Office do you have? After starting Excel, click on File > Account, please take a screenshot of the Product Information part and share it with us.
- Please also share us a screenshot of the Excel ribbon.
- Can other Excel add-ins be loaded successfully?
Appreciate your time and patience.
Best regards,
Madoc
