Adjust or modify folder order

Hi there,

I wanted to ask is it possible to manually change the folder structure order in a Document library without having to be A.B.C or 1.2.3 similar to how you can for document libraries on the sites main page in left navigation using "EDIT".

Thanks

    Hi Wallace,

Thanks for posting here and sharing your idea with us. After seeing your post we did some tests and searches, I am afraid that there's no out-of-the-box way to do this yet. The default sort order for a view is by Name alphabetically, and we kindly suggest you customize a view or just add a column to modify files' position manually.

For detailed steps of this workaround, you could add a Number or ID column then enter number for files with the order you want. Then click All document(the current view name)->Edit current view->First sort by the column->select the column you create.

For the reference, you could view this page: Organize files in a library.

Additionally, you could share this requirement on the SharePoint UserVoice site, and this is the fastest way to let the product team get the feedback. We will inform you via email when any related updates come out. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

    Have a nice day: )

    Best regards,

    Oliver
