Sharepoint Column in List

Question

I added a new column "task outcome" to my sharepoint list and now it cant be deleted and every time I hide it, it comes back. It's also made the view when trying to edit "classic" and I do not want this to happen. Please help?

If you just want to delete this column, you may do the following steps:

Go to list settings, scroll down to the content types, find the "task outcome" column, click it and delete it. Then it'll be deleted forever.

May I know whether it is a site column, or a column created in List Settings?

A site column is a shared column, and not created individually for each list. To delete such column, you must go to Settings> **Site information.**For detail steps, see Delete a site column from SharePoint

If the column is created in List settings, then follow the steps from this article to delete it.

Please check if you can delete the column with any of the steps mentioned above. If the issue persists, please provide us with the following information:
