MS Project 2016 Save Issues

I am having issues with my MS Project. I will make updates to a schedule, I will click the Save icon prior to closing the file. When I click X, I am prompted to save my changes. If I click Yes, nothing happens...the file does not close. If I click no, or force the close, when I reopen the file, none of my updates are saved, and I am back to the point when the file was opened.

If I try to Save As, the newly saved file is corrupt and will not open.

If I export to Excel, the issues persist. I copy the tasks from Excel and paste into a new Project template, then format those tasks with correct indentations, and save the file, when I reopen the file, The first half of the schedule is inactive and all of the formatting I applied is gone.

This does not happen with every file. It may or may not occur with the same file twice.

IT has uninstalled Office 365 and MS Project Pro, and reinstalled in an attempt to correct the problem...it did not.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Does anyone know how to correct this issue?

    Hi Jennifer,

Our IT department does not permit caching of files. I have tried this and "View Cache Status" and "Clean Up Cache" are grayed out. I am checking with IT to confirm this. Once I get an official answer, i can update my reply.

    Thank You!

    Brent Casey
