Inserting symbols into a document

I have made a shortcut to insert a symbol (box with a check mark, wingdings 254) into my document, to be used as place marker.  But I would like the symbols to be larger and a different color when I use my shortcut.  Is there and way to set the properties (color and size) for just that shortcut?

Thanks David

You could save the symbol as a formatted AutoCorrect entry.

    Hi David,

As far as I know, there is no such an OOB solution to change the style of the short cut inserted symbol.

However, in your case, I think you might use the Replace function in the Word to help you change the style more efficiently.

For instance, after you have finished the document, you can click on Replace > input check mark symbolin the Find What and Replace With fields**>**go to Format > Font > customize with the style you would like and go replace all.

    Hope this could help.

    Cheers,

    Alex Chen
