Hi. I have Office 365 and yet I cannot open a docx file. I have Windows 10 on a PC. Could you help please?

    If the docx file is not too large to attach to an email message, send me a copy of it that way, referencing this thread in the covering email message and I will see if I can recover your document.

    Alternatively, upload a copy of the document to the following folder of my OneDrive

    and send me an email to the address shown in my signature to let me know that it is there.

    Word documents (*.docx files) are compressed files and you can look at the components of the file by renaming it with a *.zip extension. However, in this case something has clearly happened to the file. Are you allowed to share it? You can upload the file to OneDrive or Dropbox, and post a "share" link here.

    Instead of trying to open this file directly, save it to your computer. Which type of file is it?

    Your second screen shot suggests that File Explorer is treating the file as a compressed (*.zip) file.

    Where is the document located and what happens when you try to open it from Word's File Tab?
