Hi DarrylPCanada or Clark Cui MSFT,

Did you ever get a resolution to this? I am having the exact same problem. I was wondering if it was a feature that needed to be turned on/off.

Thanks!,

Tony C

    Hi TonyC109,

Thanks for sharing updates with us.

We would like to explain you when we type of column is Multiple lines of text, and by selecting ‘Rich text’ we need to press Enter to wrap them when editing**.**

In modern experience **** the Multi lines of text column (allowed type of text set to Plain text) only shows certain length of text. To check the whole content for this column, you can click the information icon on the ribbon > select the list item > Click See more on the right pane to check all the contents.

When we switch site to Classic View, we will see whole content for this column without clicking anything.

According to this article : Edit a rich text, list column in SharePoint Online by choosing the enhanced rich text column setting, you can customize the font color, size, or style or markup of the text.

we appreciate your understanding and time.

    Best Regards,

    Waqas Muhammad

    Hi TonyC109,

You can select Rich text (Bold, italics, text alignment, hyperlinks) while creating the column. Selecting ‘Rich text’ will make the text flow in next line instead of hiding the text beyond the border.

Here’s how the field looks when we select Rich Text as ‘Additional column settings.

    Screenshot of column settings

For you reference: Edit a rich text, list column in SharePoint Online.

If selecting Rich textdoesn’t resolve your issue, then If it's convenient for you, could you please provide us some screenshot in your side to further investigate you issue.

I appreciate your patience and understanding.

    Best Regards,

    Waqas Muhammad

    Hi Waqas,

Here are the requested screen shots:

Here is my List in Modern Experience (Session Title):

Here it is in Classic View:

And here are the Settings of the Session Title Column:

I've also had the column set to Enhanced Rich Text with the same result.

I'm wondering if there are any settings or features that must be enabled at the Site level to make this work as intended, either by enabling/disabling something in the Manage Site Features or Site Collection Features?

    Thanks!

    Tony
