    Hi Aileen,

Thank you for posting back. I have read the communication between you and Alex, and I will also try my best to help you.

According to you description, you have referred the suggestion Alex provided to download SharePoint Designer, however, you mentioned that you don’t have right permission for it.

If so, generally, we download SharePoint Designer 2013 > then we sign in it with our work/school account > then click Sites > Open site > type the site URL, since you mentioned that you don’t have permission for it, does it mean that you encountered an error message “You do not have permission to open this Web site in SharePoint Designer” when you open a site in SharePoint Designer, if so, you can refer to the suggestion I provided in this thread to enable custom script for the site using PowerShell command, for more details, you can also refer to this article: Turn scripting capabilities on or off.

Note: you may need to wait forsome time to take effect.

After opening the site successfully, you will see Site Information panel, as shown below:

For more details about SharePoint Designer 2013, you can refer to this article: Introducing SharePoint Designer

If the problem still persists after trying the suggestion I provided above, could you provide more details about “i don't have the right permissions for it”? Does it mean you cannot download it? Could you provide the screenshot of error message?

    Best Regards,

    Sukie

    Hi Nicol,

In the scenario you described, you could try using SharePoint Designer to connect the Site which you want to backup, in the Site Information pane, it will give you a Total Storage Used for this site.

    Hope this information could help.

    Regards,

    Alex Chen
