Adding OneNote to Teams with variable permissions and Sync options

First Scenario: I am collaborating with colleagues on a project. I have many OneNotes. To reduce the multitude, I want to upload my OneNote Section with pages and sub pages to the Existing Teams Channel One Note. I would like to restrict editing to certain pages, restrict view to some of those pages and as well as other pages, AND I want to share the entire section with my supervisor who will have edit on some pages and view on all pages.

Second Scenario: if the above cannot be done within the existing Teams Channel OneNote, I would like to upload the section to Teams channel with the same collaborative scenarios.

Both Scenarios should allow for me to work within my OneNote Application and it should synchronize to Teams.  I assume that permissions for view and edit will need to be assigned individually. Example, If I want to assign edit permissions, then that individual must not be in the 'everyone' can view group on the understanding the the least privilege overrides other permissions.

Hi Diana,

About "will it sync changes to my notebook?", the answer is Yes. If others who have Edit permission edit on the notebook in Teams tab, the changes will automatically sync to the notebook on Teams and the original notebook.

Best regards,

Jazlyn

Hi Diana,

Thank you for choosing our product.

Based on your description, you want to give pages with specific permission to specific people and then add the notebook to Teams. Honestly, this requirement can't be met now.

However, there is a workaround for you. You can according to this articleto share the notebook to specific people in your Teams group with Edit/View permission. After sharing this notebook, then you can click "+" button on the team to add this notebook.

And if person who has the edit permission edit on this notebook, the changes will automatically sync to Teams.

If you still have problems about it, please feel free to post back.

Best regards,

Jazlyn

Thank you Jazlyn for your reply! Question... once I '+' add the notebook to Teams, will it sync changes to my notebook? Example: I've updated sharing permissions, now I add the Notebook to teams. User with permissions to edit makes changes, adds additional content. Will I see those edits synced to the original OneNote, which is the one open and use from the Office portal?
