    ???

What icon do you want to change to?   Icons are generally kept in program files, EXE COM or DLL files.

If you want to find the program files, in the Start menu, right click on any Office application "tile" > select "More" > Open file location. This opens the folder that contains the start menu tiles. Right click on the Excel shortcut > select "Properties". In the Shortcut tab, look in the Target input. This lists the exact path to the program file, ie "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\EXCEL.EXE"   (your path may vary)

You can point to other locations to get other icons ...

    Hi 8782,

Thanks for posting in the community.

According to your description, I think you ticked Display as icon option under Create from File tab and it didn’t display the Excel icon. Normally, it should display the Excel icon. I have tested on my side and I can reproduce the same situation. Also, here is a related thread where the customer discussed the same situation.

Given this situation, I would like to suggest report this situation to the related team by sending the feedback.

In the meanwhile, as a workaround, you could switch to Semi-Annual channel, it will display the Excel icon.Sorry for the inconvenience that happens to you.

    Appreciate your understanding and patient.

    Regards,

    George
