Unable to Right Click in Excel

I have such a fustrating issue whereby I cannot right click any of the menu tabs, but yet I can still right click on the spreadsheets.

This is so annoying because if I want to add an icon to the quick access tool bar, I have to search it up rather than just right click and add it.

I am on a Macbook Pro, can anyone help because its driving me insane!

    Hi Alfielder,

I am John, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I'm here to work with you on this issue.

I am sorry to hear this is happening to you.

May I know if you have tried any of the steps below?

    1. Using Control-Click
      • Place your cursor over what you want to click. Hold the control or ctrl key on your keyboard.
    2. Enabling Two-Finger Clicks
      • Click the Apple menu. Select System Preferences, and then open Keyboard & Mouse.
      • Click the Trackpad tab. Under the Trackpad Gestures section, check the box labeled “Tap trackpad using two fingers for secondary click”. This will enable you to right-click using two fingers.
    • Place your cursor over what you want to click. Press two fingers to the trackpad to right-click an object. With the secondary click enabled, doing this will open the right-click menu.

If the two steps didn't work, you might need to contact an Apple support for this issue.

I hope it helps you. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Regards,

    John

I'm not sure what JPV20 is trying to explain but there is no means of customizing the QAT by any sort of right-click method.

Directly from the UI you can click the down-pointing arrow at the right end of the QAT & add/remove any of the items provided in that menu but for any other commands you need to use the Ribbon & Toolbar Preferences pane. Either select More Commands at the bottom of that menu or go to Excel> Preferences> Ribbon & Toolbar - Quick Access Toolbar.

This is a standard warning that I give whenever I see a thread had a message from a support scammer. You may have not seen the message (it was deleted from the forum), but if you had subscribed to the thread would you have received an email with the scam message. Just in case, here's my warning:

Do NOT respond to replies asking you to contact Microsoft Support, Executive, agent, tech, MVP, advisor or anyone else.

No legitimate person or entity will ever ask you to call or contact them. Do not call phone numbers. Do not reply to email messages. Do not click links to phony agents in your web browser.

Questions and comments are answered in the forums themselves, not elsewhere.

A request asking you to contact someone is fake. It is an attempt to take over your computer, steal your data, your money and your identity.

    Hi

Just to follow up with Bob's comment, here's a screen shot showing the tiny triangle that you can click to find the customize option.
