Do you have a picture or example you can share of what you want the chart look like in general?  Insert a picture here so we know what you want to see.

Insert Picture - How to Insert Images in the Forum - Examples of Screen Capture Tools to create images

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_other-winapps/how-to-insert-images-in-the-forum-examples-of/884b48bc-a1c7-472f-9574-6274aa035011  (Rohn007)

Unfortunately your screen capture did not come through. Although you could see it after pasting, when you saved the question / reply the image was lost, sent to the ‘bit bucket’.  Apparently the MS programmers working on this site don’t know how to save pasted images.  Instead we have to follow an obscure, ancient, roundabout process described in the link above.

As well,  it would really help if you could upload a simple example file showing the problem

****************** UPLOAD EXAMPLE - TROUBLE SHOOTING - SHARE PERSONAL ONEDRIVE FILE (NOT BUSINESS ONEDRIVE)

    .

Trouble shooting problems in files can be like a visit to the dentist, a long, slow painful process of us trying to “extract” the clues needed to recognize the problem in a back and forth flow of questions and answers so that we can come up with a / “the” solution.

    .

Often it is faster and easier for everyone if we have a “sample file” get "hands on", to look at, and to “play with”.

    .

This next link provides some tips on setting up a sample file and specific instructions for uploading and "sharing" it for us to access:

Using “Invites” to specific people from inside Office apps. Modify document access permissions and add a “note” with “how to” instructions for recipient

The first 2 minutes of this video gives an example of What I mean by a “simple” example. Use short simple names and quantities, and just 2 or 3 rows per sample data you want calculations done on.  You want simple numbers so you can do the math checks in your head.

    1.

    You appear to be plotting:-

     - numbers on the Y (vertical) axis

     - dates on the X (horizontal) axis

    2.

I’ve just put up an EXCEL file for you at:-

    http://www.mediafire.com/file/x6vufqrrdk1uc6s/scatter_chart_testing_sep_29_2020_1.xlsx/file

    3.

Download the file and open it.

I’ve set up the file the way that you want it.

    4.

You can use the file by just inputting your values into cells:-

    A 2 to B 10

    5.

    My file’s based on:-

Present your data in a scatter chart or a line chart - Excel for Microsoft 365
