OneDrive Registry Sync Engine duplicate keys

I have some VBA code for working out the local path of synchronised SharePoint files.

To do this I access the HKCU\Software\SyncEngines\Providers\OneDrive registry tree.

In there you have a set of key such as:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SyncEngines\Providers\OneDrive**{ GUID }]**

"MountPoint"="D:\{ Company Name }\{ Sharepoint Site } - Documents"

"UrlNamespace"="https://{ Company Domain }.sharepoint.com/sites/{ Sharepoint Site }/Shared Documents/"

However, on some of the machines I am runing this on some of the MountPoints point to the incorrect namespace, and instead point to one of the other synced sites.

Examining the synced folders it seems that the correct files are actually being synced, it is just these reg keys that are wrong.

So my question is, why are these registry keys wrong? Does anyone have any experience with this?

    Hi Jordan,

    Thank you for your message in this forum.

    According to your description, it seems that you are using VBA to work out the local path of synced SharePoint files. However, on some of the machines you are running this on some of the MountPoints point to the incorrect namespace, and instead point to one of the other synced sites.

    If so, generally, if you want to use the local path of synced SharePoint files, you can use OneDrive sync client, then you can go to OneDrive icon > More > Settings > Office > unselect Use Office applications to sync Office files that I open. In this situation, the location of files stored in OneDrive sync folder will be changed to local path. For more details, you can refer to this article: Use Office applications to sync Office files that I open.

    Or you can also map a network drive, in this way, the location of files is also the local path. For more details, you can refer to this article: Map a network drive

    If you still have any contains about registry key, to make sure you get professional help, we’d suggest you go to MADN forum and post a new thread, that’s a specific channel to handle related questions.

    Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated.

    Best Regards,
