Compacting backend

I want to compact and repair the backend of a password protected database.  I have searched for a solution but can't find a simple answer to this.

I assume this cannot be done via the frontend (or loading the backend on its own) as the backend would be in use.

Would really appreciate help in getting this done as it hasnt been compacted for many years and is getting quite big.  If necessary, I can remove the password protection to accomplish this.

    Thank you for the information.

    Would I use Run dialog box for xyz.DBEngine.CompactDatabase (parameters)?
