One Note Scrolling Issue

Anonymous
2020-02-12T21:06:51+00:00

I have an issue with my OneNote app on my laptop. When attempting to scroll using the touchpad, it scrolls all the way to the bottom or the top of the page, depending on which direction I scroll in. This is extremely aggravating, and it only happens in OneNote, not in any other Microsoft App (or anywhere else). I've already tried re-installing the driver, so I know that is not the issue.

Thank you for providing the information. If uninstalling and re-installing the OneNote app was done, it could have fixed the issue because doing the process, you'll have a fresh and updated copy of the app. The concern must be something else. At this point, I strongly recommend getting in touch with Office 365 support for extensive troubleshooting and real time support. You can click this link to reach them.

If you have other concerns, let us know.

Have you tried the following troubleshooting steps?

    1. Install Office updates
    2. Repair an Office application
    3. Uninstall Office from a PC
    4. Download and install or reinstall Office 365 or Office 2019 on a PC or Mac

If you have not, please do so and check if it will help solve the issue for you.

Let us know how it goes.

This issue has always happened, from when I first started using OneNote a year ago. I've tried all the things you listed above, as well as adjusting the touchpad sensitivity. Touchpad sensitivity is the only setting I could find that had anything to do with the touchpad, including in the OneNote settings itself.

I attempted to open OneNote in Safe Mode, but I'm not sure if I was successful. Online message boards seem to indicate that One Note 2016 does not open in Safe Mode.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting this to the Community Forum. I hope you're doing good today despite having a scrolling issue with the OneNote app. Let's try to get to the bottom of this concern.

I agree with you when you re-installed the driver for the touch-pad of your email because usually it corrects the issue. Besides re-installing the driver, what have done to solve the issue? When did the issue start? Do you remember making any changes to the settings of your laptop besides re-installing the touch-pad?

If you note made any troubleshooting yet, please try to start the OneNote app in Safe Mode to check for any add-ins or extension that might be causing this concern. If it's a no go, you can try the following Microsoft articles to help solve the issue.

    1. Install Office updates
    2. Repair an Office application
    3. Uninstall Office from a PC
    4. Download and install or reinstall Office 365 or Office 2019 on a PC or Mac

Update us with the outcome so we can further assist you.

    Bob
