Hello!
I just recently obtained a Microsoft 365 developer subscription to be able to learn how to develop for the Microsoft 365 suite of products and I had some questions about this. I read up on the FAQ section / terms of use for this subscription and its renewal and I had a question.
What counts as development activity? I know that it's supposedly disclosed in the terms of use in terms of what counts, but I couldn't find any excerpt in the terms of service that sufficiently answered my question. I'm trying to learn how to develop for and implement M365 solutions, as someone who primarily works with them from an IT operations perspective. I will be working on applications that utilize the Microsoft APIs and development resources, but they'll more be for learning purposes / internal usage. Does this count towards the telemetry/algorithms that are used in order to track the usage of the M365 account for me to be eligible for renewal, or do I need to use my M365 developer account for something else as well to be eligible to keep it?
Thank you in advance for your assistance!
Kelvin Tran

Hi Grace,
Stack Overflow is a community for coders/developers to be able to ask technical questions. As far as I'm aware, I don't think they'd be able to answer questions about the terms of service for the M365 developer subscription and how I can be eligible for renewal. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you, I appreciate your assistance!
Thanks,
Kelvin Tran
Hi kelvintran44,
Please do not call the fake support number above.
Based on your description, we have known that your question is about Microsoft 365 Developer Program. As this is Office 365 business category and we have a dedicated support channel for developer subscription users: Stack Overflow, in this case, we recommend you kindly post a new thread on this support channel. The engineers there have more experience and resources to handle related cases.
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
Regards,
Grace
