One Note Changes Font

Question

While using One Note, every time I hit backspace to have a sentence I have just written line up with the paragraph I want to connect it too, it changes the Font to Calibri 11, even though I have set my Default Font to Times New Roman 12, which is what the paragraph already is. Even if the sentence is written using Times New Roman 12, when I backspace it, it changes to the Calibri 11. Is there any way to fix this Permanently? I am tired of having to correct this every time I write. Thanks :-)

Example:

Paragraph written here as an example to display how it shows to help with the visual (With Times New Roman 12 - my default).

Then I will write a note down here to ensure it is what I want to say. Then when I backspace it to the paragraph, the font changes (to Calibri 11 which I hate). Hope the visual helps with the challenge.

Hi KatRenee,

According to your description, when you hit backspace to have a sentence line up with the paragraph, the font changes even though you’ve set the correct one. If so, based on my test, it won't change the font. See the below sample test. (If my steps are different from yours, please point out.)

To narrow down it, I would like to provide some suggestions for you to have a try:

1. Go to OneNote online and check whether the font will change or not.
2. Also try to update your OneNote client to the latest version and see if the new updates can fix this issue. Install Office updates

3. Open OneNote in safe mode to exclude the issue is related to some third-party add-ins and check the outcome.

4. If you are using OneNote 2016, please try to online repair and check the result with us.

Repair an Office application

If the problem persists, we’d like to collect some information to further investigate:

1. Your OneNote detailed version with us.

OneNote 2016: After starting OneNote, click on File > Account, please take a screenshot of the Product Information part with us.

OneNote for Windows 10: After starting OneNote, click on the ellipsis > Settings > About.

2. Does the issue exist in all notebooks? Or just a specific notebook? Whether the issue only happens on a specific section? Pleas create a new section and copy the problematic font page to the new section and tell us the result.
3. When using other Office apps like Word and Excel, do you also encounter this problem?
4. Check whether other devices also have the font change issue with the same notebook.
