OneDrive Word Documents: Corrupted Files

I just went back to find notes I had made on my laptop and saved on my OneDrive in 2018, and they are all corrupted. Names have changed to have "._" before every file name and the contents of each corrupted file is blank. I can still open some files, but there is no writing in them. Does anyone know a way to fix this? I would use the recovery tool but that only goes back 30 days and since the files were made in 2018 that isn't an option for me.

    Hi Alicia,

Based on our research, We found that "._" files are caused by the macOS system and this file contains the metadata of the original files.

To troubleshoot this issue, we suggest you use OneDrive sync client to sync all the files then rename them by deleting “._” before filename. If the issue persists after this, could you please provide more detailed steps of creating and saving them? How long have them stayed in this status?

It will help us understand this issue better. Appreciate your cooperation.

    Best Regards,

    Ivy
