Screencapture in Excel 2016

When we go to Insert >> in Illustrations tool set ?? then click on Screenshot, all the windows are visible. When i click any one of them the screenshot gets captured.

However, I have noticed that Chrome doesn't give an option for Screenshot; instead it appears as a black screen. Any ideas on this?

Below is the screenshot for the same wherein I have highlighted the Chrome in Red. (black image)

    Hi Sanjeep,

I tested on my side, but I don’t get the same issue, as you can see in screenshot below:

    Here are some suggestions:

    1. Update your Office and Chrome, make sure you are in latest version.
    2. Go to Chrome settings>Advanced>System>uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
    3. Use Screen Clipping to insert a screenshot or use keyboard shortcut to print screen(screenshot will be stored in clipboard), right click and choose paste image to insert it to workbook. Form more information: Keyboard shortcut for print screen

If suggestion above doesn’t help, could you please share a screenshot of your Office Version page in File>Account with us?

    Regards,

    Clark

    Thanks for answering Clark,

It worked after unchecking "Use hardware acceleration when available".

A follow-up question though, Can I make a macro which will take screenshots of all the available Window panes reflecting under Screenshot? Or if we can have a Input Box which will ask the number of windows to be taken as a screenshot?

Then take 2 or 3 or n number of screenshots from the Active Windows pane?

    Hi Sanjeep,

Glad to hear the #2 suggestion help you on the issue, as for the macro, I find some references that may help you: Using Excel VBA Macro To Capture + Save Screenshot of Specific Area In Same File.

Additionally, if you would like more help on Macros, I would suggest you post a new thread under Microsoft Office programming where you may get dedicated help on this.

    Hi Sanjeep,

I would summarize the thread, and post a brief summary here, so that other users with the same issue in the forum can find solution quickly. If you want to add any information here, you can just post back. Thanks for your contribution.

    Issue description:

Window for Chromes is blank in Insert>Screenshot.

    Environment:

    Office 365 For business

    Suggestion:

Use hardware acceleration when availablein Chrome settings>Advanced>System is ticked. It causes compatibility issue with the Excel screen clipping feature. After the option is unticked, issue resolved.

    Best Regards,

    Clark
