OneNote Sync Error

I have been receiving the error code from the OneNote App: "OneNote can't sync your notes because your account is out of space. Learn More. Page has never been synced | E0000796 bukxn 30101" as well as "Saved offline.  Sign-in required Page has never been synced | E0000024 cnumq" even though I have enough space when I sign into OneDrive/OneNote online.

I previously had my gmail associated with the OneNote app and I have started to receive emails there stating that I am out of space, however when I again follow the link to my OneDrive from there, I can see that I still have plenty of space on my subscription.  I have already tried signing in and signing out of the application and online to no avail.

It turns out I was using the 2010 Version of OneNote (which I was told is more like a "trial version").  The 2016 version can be obtained here https://www.onenote.com/download

It turns out the main issue ended up being that I was using the 2010 version of OneNote rather than my multiple-email-situation.  So in the following text my Outlook has my space subscription for OneNote, whereas my Gmail does not have a subscription for space.

The process of moving files from the 2010 to 2016 version of OneNote is more tedious (because OneNote 2010 cannot export if you're not in the browser version); these were the instructions I received:

"So first we export the current versions that have been synced of those notebooks on Onenote Online (the browser version). We install Onenote 2016. Then we log into Onenote 2016 with your Outlook account (the desktop application). Import the notebooks that we just exported from the browser version. So Onenote 2016 will have the versions that have been synced, but Onenote windows 2010 will have the most current versions. So from there, you open up the files in Onenote 2016 and copy and paste the text/data from Onenote for windows 10."

I had too much data for it to be worth copying and pasting everything into the 2016 version, but luckily when I exported the data from 2010 all of the image files/notes/highlighting/drawings came through.  So they are at least now saved on my computer itself.

From this spot I haven't figured out how to save my downloaded notebooks to the 2016 version that I exported from the 2010 version...but at least I can open the notebooks when I want to without having lost any data.  Also, it took several attempts sometimes for the files to export properly.  They will end up in a zipped file, and if you receive an error, try exporting the notebook again.
