Move Sharepoint List into Documents folder

Hello everyone,

I created a few lists on SharePoint to be used in a PowerApps app, unfortunately when I created them I did not pay attention and created them under 'Site Contents' instead of the 'Documents' folder. Now I can't see the lists in PowerBI. Is there a way to move them to the 'Documents' folder or do I have to redo everything?

Thank you,

Daniel

    Dear Daniel,

Thanks for your updates and I'm glad to hear that you can connect the lists to Power BI.

The Documents is a site library which is also a list in SharePoint Online. So you can't move the lists to a list. You can only add the files and items in a list or a library.

Generally, you can create a document set content type and add the lists as web parts on the welcome page. However, this action doesn't really move the lists to the Document library.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Cliff

    Dear Daniel,

Generally, you can connect the SharePoint lists to Power BI by following the steps in the article and using the Power BI desktop.

If you can't connect them to Power BI in the Power BI desktop, you can follow the steps in the articleto see if the issue goes away in your environment.

So about "unfortunately when I created them I did not pay attention and created them under 'Site Contents' instead of the 'Documents' folder. Now I can't see the lists in PowerBI.", do you use the local Excel files and connect the data to Power BI in the Power BI desktop? Could you upload some related screenshots for us to clarify your environment?

Hi Cliff, thank you for your answer. I was able to connect Power BI to my SharePoint lists using Power BI Desktop but could not do it over the browser. This works fine now, however I would still want to move my lists as it looks messy where it is now. Here is a screenshot of my 'Site Contents', i would like to move these lists to the 'Documents' folder.

Thank you again for your help,

    Daniel
