Microsoft Forms: Branching

Question

Is it possible to use branching in Microsoft Forms to link to a specific question in a different section? I can only find options to branch to a specific question within the same section, or to a new section generally (not to a specific question within that section).

For example, I am looking to create a Form to use as a Skills Assessment tool within my organisation. I have created different sections for different skill sets (Customer Service, Finance, etc) and have different questions within each section to assess certain skills and that I want staff to complete. Some elements of all sections will need to be completed, however not all questions within a section need to be completed but are rather grade specific so after completing the final question is Section 1 I might want to branch to questions 2 or 3 in Section 2.

Per your description, it seems that you would like to branch the question in Section 1 to the specific question like question 2 or 3 in Section 2 with a Form, may I confirm this is your scenario?

Given your situation, we did the test and when we click Add branching in Question 3, it’s only allowed to selecta specific question in the same Section or Section 1 or Section 3.

According to the Official article Use branching logic in Microsoft Forms, it might break the experience for the respondent to select the specific questions with different sections, so it's only available to branch a consecutive question.

We do understand your concern and to address it, it’s highly recommended to feedback this to Forms UserVoice Allow branching to specific question, this is the Official platform to collect user’s great ideas and help further improve our product. As you can see, other users also have submitted their feedback in UserVoice platform, we will also feedback this to the related team to further increase the developer team's awareness of such requirement.
