Sharepoint cannot add shortcut to Onedrive

Hi all,

When we are trying to create shortcut to Onedrive from Sharepoint Online it gives an error message as shown in attached screenshot. We have tried with different computer and same user credentials to understand if computer has source of the issue but still couldn't create a shortcut.

Interesting thing is only two users having this issue but others are fine to create shortcut. Users who cannot create shortcut are able to create folders/files in their accessible Sharepoint and Onedrive folders.

I hope someone has a solution for this issue.

Best regards.

    Hi Dinç Ekmekçi,

    Thanks for posting in the community.

    Since you have tested on different computers, the issue is not caused by the devices and browsers. For the error message, I haven’t found any related threads about this feature while it seems something stuck in the backend for the specific accounts. To troubleshoot whether the issue is related with the specific account, I would like to collect more information:

    1. Please remove the permissions of the two problematic accounts from the site and re-add again, then check whether the issue exists
    2. Does the issue exists in other libraries or other sites for the two accounts? Also, you could create a new library/site to test.

    Regards,

    George

    Hi George,

    here are our test results;

    1. Please remove the permissions of the two problematic accounts from the site and re-add again, then check whether the issue exists

    Didn't solve the issue.

    1. Does the issue exists in other libraries or other sites for the two accounts? Also, you could create a new library/site to test.

    Created new library to test and issue exists with new library as well. Creating and giving permission to new library didn't solve the issue.

    Best regards.
