Excel filled map country missing if no data

Hi all,

I am having trouble with some countries missing in Excel filled map. See this picture, Russia, Turkey and Zealand (and maybe also others I didn't notice) are missing from the map when there is no value associated with the country. They do appear if there is data point.

I tried different types of data series formatting but it didn't work. Not sure if it has anything to do with the version I am using.

Please help. Thank you!

    Hi Shiyao,

I have tested in the latest version the same channel of Excel; I can’t reproduce this issue at my end.

You can see my test result here, Russia displays normally on the Map even there is no data in the sheet. Given this situation, we suggest you go to Excel-> File-> Update Options-> Update Now to use the latest version of Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel and check the result.

Moreover, please create a new Excel workbook and check whether the issue persists.  (Make sure you select the all range when creating Map chart.) If issue persists, please share the sample file here and we will try to check it at our end. (Please save the file in cloud drive and share the access link here.)

    Appreciate your cooperation.

    Best Regards,

    Ivy

    Hi Ivy,

Thanks for your reply. Since it's my work laptop, all updates are locked only to administrators. I did try to update Excel on my personal mackbook to the latest version and but issue is still there.

This is my macbook Excel version

Can I ask what is your Excel version?

    Thanks,
    Shiyao

    Hi Shiyao,

Here is my Excel for Windows version. I also tested on Excel for Mac 16.48 version and I have the same result like the screenshot in my first reply.

You mentioned you can reproduce the same behavior on your personal Mac, may I know whether you tested it with the same Excel file? We are sorry that we can’t access the sample file as your organization doesn’t allow external sharing.

You can upload the same file in your personal OneDrive and share the access link here. Please remove the private information. We will test it at my end.

    Regards,

    Ivy

    Hi Ivy,

Please find the sample map via this link. https://1drv.ms/x/s!AlKsgpcfY\_fHgQYboQY9Y38SOqux?e=6gutmS

I recreated this sheet on my personal macbook with Excel for Mac 16.48 version, and this is what it looks like.

    Dear Shiyao,

Thanks for providing the sample data and workbook for us.

We found that we are able to reproduce this behavior with the same data at our end. So, we assume this is not related to the version of Excel.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by this. As a workaround, you can add the country without value. Moreover, we kindly suggest you submit the feedback within Excel application, this is the best way to send your feedback to related team directly. In the meantime, we will also report this issue at our end.

    Your understanding is highly appreciated.

    Best Regards,

    Ivy
