A note was shared with me, and I am able to access it both from the web, and from the OneNote application on Windows 10. However, it does not show up whatsoever on my android device with my other notebooks. Is there some way to make it show up?

Thanks for getting back to us.

Since you’re still unable to see the shared note in the OneNote for Android app, we’ll then try other options.

    First option:

Check if you’ve received an email when the notebook was shared with you. If yes, you may sign into your email account via https://outlook.live.com/ or through the Outlook for Android app, then look for that email and click Open in the body of the email that should route you to the app and access the shared notebook.

    Second option:

Sign into your account where the notebook is shared to via OneNote Online from the browser of your Android device. Once you see the shared notebook under the list of Shared with Me, click on it and you should be prompted an option to use an app to open the notebook. You may select either OneNote or OneDrive, then it should already open the notebook accordingly.

Method 1 was not possible as I no longer had the original email.

Method 2 DID fix the problem.

    Thanks!

My OneNote is latest build, and I'm on latest Android 11

It is a personal account from Office 365 Family subscription.

Method 1: It is absent from this list.

Method 2: I logged out, logged back in, checked Method 1 again, still absent from the list. I see the "Family Notebook" but I don't see this single shared note from another user.

    Hi MDHenderson,

We understand that you’re having concerns viewing or opening the shared note through OneNote for Android that you can access from the other OneNote platform such as via the web and the OneNote app on Windows 10. Let’s check on this further and we’ll help you get this sorted out.

This may be an application-related issue, or the shared note needs to be opened manually. To know more about this, we’d like to ask the following:

    1. Which build and version of OneNote for Android is installed on your device?
    2. Is the account you’re using for OneNote a personal, work, or school account?

To isolate this concern, may we clarify if you’ve already tried the steps below? If not yet, you may try to do so.

    Method 1:

Checking the shared notebook under More Notebooks. If the shared note/notebook is listed there, you’ll just need to tap or select on it to open. Please see this image:

    Method 2:

Signing out and signing back in your account from the OneNote for Android application. This will help to resync all your notebooks in the app.

If you would like us to provide additional advice, simply respond to this thread. We will get notified and I’ll reply to you as soon as we can.
