how to import data from web to Excel 365 Mac version

Hello,

I would like to be able to import external data from a web url  with Powerquery plugin in Excel Mac, as it's possible in the Windows version.

I've read some other threads talking about that :

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_excel-mso_mac-mso_o365b/add-import-from-web-to-the-mac-excel/562d44c4-455f-4002-972f-3e59e7cfa7b5#:~:text=Excel%20for%20Mac%20allows%20you,to%20get%20the%20web%20data. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/how-to-import-data-into-excel-from-website/7103edaf-497c-4008-93cd-39edc0f8cb3d

but it seems to me that there is no update to do this as easily as under Windows. I mean the web request will return me JSON data and I would like that Excel could be able to interpret that, also be able to filter to choose which columns I would like to display, and could also configure an automatic refresh mechanism every x minutes for example.

Is it possible?

Thank you :)

    Hi thierryb81:

Based on your description, we understand that you want to import data from web to Excel 365 Mac.

You can try the following steps to import webpage data into the workbook:

1.Open Word application and paste the URL which you want to query, save this document as .txt Plain Text, use MS-DOS coding.

2.Locate the txt file which we just created, right click on it > Get Info.

3.Under File Name & Extension, change the extension name from "txt" to "iqy".

4.Open Excel, on the top ribbon, click on Data > Get External Data > Run Web Query. And select the iqy file > OK.

We fully understand that for Mac users, it is very inconvenient not to import data like the Windows version of Excel. However, we really believe your requirement can improve our products and bring a better user experience. You can kindly give your valuable suggestion in Excel for Mac application; your feedback will be sent to the related team directly. For your reference: How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office?

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Hi thierryb81

It's obvious Tin has no clue about what you're asking

Here's an article that describes the current state of Power Query on Mac.
