Any impact of SQL patching on SharePoint patching

Hi Guys,

My client is using sp13 with SQL 2014.
They want to install SQL patch upgrade on the same day as that of SP.
Is there any impact if the SQL patch update happens before SP CU update on the same day?

There is no special impact on installing the SQL patch before the SP CU update on the same day.

When you install the SQL patch, there is a downtime about SharePoint server, and it will pick up the SQL connection once SQL is available.

Then we could install SharePoint CU update later.
