Cannot copy and Insert Copied Cells

Excel v.16.45

I used to be able to copy and Insert Copied cells where it would push the cells down and insert the copied cells. Now it inserts a blank row when it pushes the cells down. Why? What happened to this simple capability - I am frustrated so I will ask, is MS thinking about their long time users before deciding on engineering changes that make no sense?

And how do you get support with Microsoft? We pay for O365 and all we get is forum help??

    a. Completely quit all Office applications.

    b. In Finder, press Command +Shift + G and enter ~/Libraryto open the Library folder.

    c. In the Library folder, if your macOS is Big Sur, open Containers folder and remove the folder “Microsoft.Excel”. If your macOS isn’t Big Sur,****open Containers folder and remove the folder “com.microsoft.excel”.

    d. Restart Mac and relaunch Excel application to see the results.

    1. Create a new user profileto perform a clean new environment to start Mac again to isolate the system impact.

However, if the problem persists, could you please provide some information for us to troubleshoot further so that we can provide more targeted suggestions for you?

    1. The screenshot of your macOS.
    2. A video of the problem. You can remove the personal information and upload it to OneDrive, and then share the video link with us to access it: Share files in OneDrive.
