Excel freezing when selecting output range

Hey folks,

I have been using Excel for years now for school, including using the Descriptive Statistics feature in Data Analysis. However, over the last week, I have been having some issues using this tool. Recently, I downloaded Excel data from a homework assignment in Pearson MyLab. When I use the Descriptive Statistics tool, I am able to select an input range, but as soon as I change the Output option from "New Worksheet Ply" to "Output Range," the program freezes, and I have to force quit Excel. It seems odd that just this function would be off, as I am able to use other functions, enter data/formulas, etc. without problems. I tried restarting the computer and reinstalling Microsoft Office without success. I should note that if I enter the data manually instead of opening the downloaded data, I do not have this problem. Any ideas about what is going on?

    Hi jerdav89,

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community, I'm glad to offer help.

According to your description, it seems that the problem only affects the specific "downloaded Excel data", in this case, you can try to copy the data to a newly created workbook to check the outcome.

If the issue persists, would you mind sharing the file with me via Private Message for further investigation? You can click here to check your inbox if you are willing to share.

    Best Regards,

    Arck

    Hi jerdav89,

Sorry for the late response due to out of office.

I've received the workbook you shared but I cannot reproduce the problem, everything seemed to work properly on my side.

In this case, although you said you have tried reinstalling Microsoft Office, would you mind performing a complete uninstall again and then reinstall from scratch? You can down the uninstall support tool to complete uninstall Office: Uninstall Office from a PC (go to option 2)

    Best Regards

    Arck
