I continually get the following message on my Apple Macbook Air.

"We detected a problem with Microsoft AutoUpdate. To correct the issue, please install the latest update by clicking the OK button below."

I do the check for updates and follow instructions but the message reappears again regularly.

Can you please advise how to fix this issue?

I have this problem. The solution of 're-downloading the newest version' does not solve it. I'm on the latest version, as well.

This garbage warning pops up ever 5-7 minutes and is ANNOYING.

I have tried the suggested remedy but it has not solved my problem.  Any other suggestion?

I also do not have duplicate apps anywhere. Typical Microsoft to just quit replying to people that have this issue.

    Hi Trent,

Please try the following steps to uninstall MAU and then reinstall it:

    1.    Open any Office > click Help menu > Check for updates to open MAU

    2.    Right click MAU in the dock > select Options> Show in Finder

    3.    Quit MAU first, and then Move it to Trash to uninstall it

    4.    Go to Release history for Microsoft AutoUpdate (MAU) to reinstall the current latest version of MAU

PS: if you cannot open MAU properly to locate the source file, please go toLibrary/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0 manually to uninstall MAU

    Best Regards,

    Arck
