Data Points Not In Correct Position on Scatterplot

So, the data column for my x-axis is dates. I used the first of the month for each month from May 2011 to January 2012 but I changed the format to only show the month/year (May-11, Jun-11, etc.) 

Problem is with the actual scatter plot. Why are my data points not lined up at the major tick marks with the months on the x-axis?

    I'd use a line chart with markers. Then set the line style to No Line, so that only the markers are displayed.

    Set the following parameters for the x-axis:

    • Axis type: Date axis.
    • Major unit: 1 month.
    • Axis position: On tick marks.
