Is it no longer possible to paste CSV data into Excel?

Hello,

I have been pasting csv data into excel for many years.  Now one of my computers doesn't have the option. I have enabled the legacy option that I understood is supposed to give me the "Text Import Wizard" back.  But I still can't do Paste-->Text Import Wizard.  I can't "Insert".  I can't do Data-->Get from clipboard or anything like that.  It looks like maybe I am now required to go make an intermediate file on the filesystem containing the csv data, and then some great new wizard will let me import that.  Is that the only way?  Is it no longer possible to paste csv data from the clipboard?

    Hi

My name is André. I am an independent consultant.

    >Initially the most practical way to import a CSV. is through

    -Date

    -Get and Transform Data

    -From Text / CSV

And the second way, would be to copy all the contents of your csv normally.

and click on the clipboard option triangle (print1) and paste the content as you wish.

If these methods are not working. answer here, as excel is probably corrupted, and you will have to perform a repair.

    André.

I don't know why they disappeared that function as a menu option.

However,  you can add it as a button on the Quick Access Toolbar where, in my opinion, it is even more accessible.

    What happens when you paste?

I'm with Andre, PowerQuery is the "new" way to import CSV files. It allows you to perform "data cleaning" to fix any data problems.

I can provide you with some articles and webinars to get you started in PQ if you are interested.
