Will the Random lines in PPT when annotating ever be fixed?

I got tired of random horizontal lines showing up when annotating my presentation and decided to check on the forums.  I found this locked thread from Office 2016. Please see the linked thread to see an image and exact description of my problem.

It looks like nothing has ever been done about it, because it is happening to me in PowerPoint 2019. I am using a MS mouse, not a pen device like most of the people in the previous thread, but it looks like the exact same thing.  All of my drivers and my Windows 10 and Office are updated.

Any news on when or if this will ever be fixed?  It is extremely annoying.

This problem occurs on all versions of Powerpoint from version 2016 to 365 on all five computers of different brands (both laptops and desktops) that I have used, but it only occurs when I use the mouse to draw. Drawing with a stylus on MS Surface works fine.
