I have a column with multiple values in a single cell; I want to filter them using just one value so any cells with that matching value will show up (instead of an exact match). How do I do that?
And how do I get the hyperlinks in the spilled cells to work?
Excel is not really happy working with "multiple values" in a single cell.
Ideally that column should be split so it only has 1 value.
So Row 9 would be split into 6 rows.
You have already defined the data as an Excel table, so it is trivial to add the slicer(s) and to teach people how to use the slicers.
.
Then you could make the selections using "Slicers" on the 3 columns.
Some example data, no slicer applied
Slicers filtering matching the criteria you used:
There is no problem with the hyperlink, because nothing is being moved, the 'result' is just the source table filtered to show just the result row(s).
In this example, I just filtered for Book and Skill, result shows they have to read 3 chapters , all in the same file
Note that I've turned off the "Filter" buttons in the column headings.
