Not in Mac Excel...Your screen shot is either taken of Excel for Windows or an article which pertains to it.

In Mac Excel either click the specific Chart element to select it or use the dropdown at the left end of the Format contextual tab for Charts.

To add an element use the comparable tool on the Chart Design contextual tab.

    Hi Philip,

Microsoft is working on a new feature suggestion system.

Sometime in the future, when you get your monthly update, you are likely to find a way to send suggestions to Microsoft on the Help menu, or maybe even on the Ribbon. It looks like they're beta testing it in Excel for Windows right now.

    Hi PhilipShek,

Thank you for querying in this forum.

From your description, it seems that you cannot find Chart element in Excel for 365.

If so, we have tested it with the latest version of Excel 16.49, we just created a new chart, when we clicked on Chart, we also cannot see Add Chart element icon, however, we can select the chart >  click Chart Design tab > Add Chart Element, as shown below:

If you tried the way above and still cannot find Add Chart Element, to better understand your situation, could you provide the information below?

    1. Could you provide the version of your Excel? You can go to Excel > About Excel and provide the screenshot of it.
    2. Could you provide the version of Mac OS?
    3. Could you provide the screenshot of Chart Design? May I know if all files have the same problem?

    Best Regards,

    Sukie

    Hi there,

    Thanks.

My Excel is Excel 16.49 and my Mac OS is Big Sur 11.3.1

I think Mac Excel doesn't have such Cursor-Hovering Chart Element feature.

Yes. I can find the chart element on the ribbon. Thanks.

Please kindly reflect to developer such issue which Mac Excel will include such nice feature some day later.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes, that capture is from my class lesson. I suppose they are using Window version.

That's too bad there are lots of nice features are not included in Mac version.
