Microsoft Word 2019 for mac. I try to print but no print dialog box will appear. I can print on Microsoft Excel 2019 for mac, but Word will not pull up the print box. I installed Mackeeper and deleted some startup programs, ever since then word will not print. I tried deleting Microsoft Word program and reinstalling it, but it still will not print. Again Excel will print but Word will not.

You've provided no specific version information so start with the basics: Need for updates is the most common cause of issues with the Print subsystem. Confirm that all of the following has been done:

    • Your installation of macOS is fully updated
    • Your Office software has been fully updated [this depends on which macOS & whether you have a Retail or a Subscription License]
    • You've checked the printer mfr's support site to see whether there is a more current driver/firmware version for your specific model

This Apple Support Article may be useful as well: Troubleshoot Printing

If you still can't resolve the issue be sure to include your macOS version as indicated in > About This Mac as well as the Version & type of License indicated in Word> About Microsoft Word in the main menu.

For future reference, any utility which "cleans up" your HD is a potential killer. Those utilities delete what they recognize as not needed but often are dead wrong.

Also, just because you experience the problem when attempting to print from one specific program doesn't necessarily mean that the program is responsible.

    Hi The Usher,

May I know if you have tried the suggestions Bob provided? May I know if your problem has been solved? If not, you can post back and we will try our best to help you.

At the same time, we noticed that you mentioned Excel works fine and this issue only occurs on Word. Given this situation, and if you are using Big Sur, we’d suggest you try to remove folder : ~/Library/Containers/Microsoft Word(press command +shift +G and enter the route to go the folder) to remove corrupt caches of the app and check the result. If you are using Catalina, we’d suggest you try to remove folder : ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Word(press command +shift +G and enter the route to go the folder) to remove corrupt caches of the app and check the result.

In the meantime, could you provide the information below?

    1. Could you provide the version of your Word? You can go to Word > About Word and provide the screenshot of it.
    2. Could you provide the version of your Mac OS?
    3. May I know if all files have the same problem? You can create a new Word file to check if the same problem will occur.

    Best Regards,

    Sukie

I have the same issue. It just stared happening over the past few weeks. I select print (or command+P) and the print dialog box no longer appears.

I can print from Excel. I have not installed any "cleaners."

This is not an issue with my printer, as I can print from Excel. Again, the Print DIALOG BOX does't even come up in Word.

    Here are my details:

    MAC OS 11.3.1 (20E241)
    Word 16.48

Everything is up to date. This is a bug.
