Exporting my ToDo lists/tasks from one microsoft account to another

Hi all, I have two microsoft accounts, I am the owner of both and would like to merge them and delete one.

One (let's call it A) only has my ToDo list/tasks so I want to export them from there and import them into the other account (account B), which is linked to my xbox account and emails etc.

I followed the instructions at the following page for exporting the outlook mailbox (where the ToDo lists are linked apparently) about a month ago, however it still shows me the status as "Export in Progress". Hoping someone can help me with this :)

FYI: I'm using outlook online in microsoft 365 (in google chrome), and based in Australia.

    Hi EthanM7,

I am John, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I'm here to work with you on this issue.

    You may try these steps:

In Outlook: File > Open & Export > Import/Export > Export to a file > Comma Separated Values > Select your Tasks

Now you can remove your account from Outlook client and re-configure it or you can create and use a new Outlook profile via Control Panel > Mail > Show profile to stop the progress.

Since it is a known issue for other users, you may also vote to the following UserVoice which is monitored by Microsoft. The more votes a suggestion receives, the more attention is paid to it.

I hope it helps you. If not, please reply back to this forum to let me know. I will be glad to follow up and help you.

    Regards,

    John

    Thanks @JPV20.

Unfortunately I don't have a way to login to the desktop outlook app with either of my personal accounts as I don't have an active subscription. Is it possible to do this someway from the online version?

However, I did manage to export a CSV file from my work account (which also has tasks) as an example. What would be the next steps for importing this file into a different MS account now?

    Hi EthanM7,

Since you do not have an active subscription, you will not be able to log in to online version also.

Unfortunately, importing a CSV file to another MS account is not supported yet in Microsoft To Do. You may vote to the ongoing UserVoice below. So, the developers might paid attention working on it.

I am sorry for the confusion of letting you export a Microsoft To Do lists/tasks to a CSV file.

    Regards,

    John

    Thanks for you response.

I am able to login to microsoft online and my todo's sink between there and my android app.

I could even do a trial month of office 365 to get the export file from the account I need, the main thing question being; is there a way to import any file type into ToDo's on a new account.

Also I have already voted for the feature suggestion you linked, thanks.

    Hi Ethan,

As far as I know, there is still no way to import any file type in Microsoft To Do on a new account.

This is one of the suggestion from other users that is still under review by the developers and up to vote in UserVoice forum. You may also be interested on voting the following feature.

I apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused you.
