Hi

I am technical support who often work using microsoft features. I am having issue with microsoft list with "Grant Access". When I try to grant edit permissions I get message "Failed to Grant Access". I also trying to grant access with the same member of my team, but it still failed.

With classic with works file and no issue with granting direct permission or permission through links. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Faza

Hi Faza,

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community, I'm glad to offer help.

According to your description, it seems that you are trying to grant access to other members by clicking the 'Share' button.

If that is the case, would you mind trying the following way to share the list?

  1. Click the 'gear' icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select 'List Settings' > 'Permissions for this list'.
  3. Click 'Grant Permissions' to share the list with other members.

If the error persists, could you please check and provide the following information? It would be helpful for us to better narrow down the cause.

  1. Does the problem affect one specific list or all lists including the newly created ones?
  2. Are the 'members' you want to share with the same organization/tenant/domain as you?

Please feel free to let me know if there is any progress, I'll continue to help you.

Best Regards,

Arck

I am having issues sharing the list with my colleagues. I have tried to share by clicking the share icon, typing in my colleagues email and hit send, but a prompt appears saying "Failed to grant access". I have tried the instructions stated in this message board but when I go into my List and access the gear icon, then go to list settings it sends me to my SharePoint site where it puts me in General Settings, but I am unable to grant permissions or find out how to grant permissions to this list. I've already made these colleagues members of the SharePoint site to make edits but I don't think that automatically makes them able to see and edit the Microsoft list, correct?

Ultimately, how do I grant access to the Microsoft List
