A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
It sounds like your Normal.dotm file contains a macro. Please try these steps:
- Close Word.
- While holding down the Option key, click on the Go menu in the macOS menu bar and choose Library. Your hidden user Library folder opens.
- Open ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Templates.
- Drag Normal.dotm to your desktop.
- Restart Word, then close it. A new blank Normal.dotm is created. The problem should disappear.
If your Normal.dotm contained custom styles, AutoText or macros, use Tools>Templates and Add-ins>Organizer to copy them from your old Normal.dotm to the new one. Be cautious about copying macros, as that's what caused the problem.
